Substation configuration: osc
The 6 settings under osc, each with the type, default and limits its schema declares.
OSC settings: where the scanner sends its events, such as to a sequencer or a sampler.
These settings send the scanner's events as OSC (Open Sound Control)
messages, so that music software can react to radio activity as it happens.
A sequencer, or any program that reacts to radio activity, receives
/radio/state when a radio channel turns on or off, and /radio/recording
when a recording is saved. A sampler receives /sample/import with the full
path of each saved recording, so it can load the new file. Each is sent only
when its switch is on, and both are off by default.
sequencer_enabled in osc
- Type
boolean- Default
false
Whether the scanner sends /radio/state and /radio/recording to a
sequencer, at sequencer_host and sequencer_port.
sequencer_host in osc
- Type
string- Default
"127.0.0.1"- Limits
- at least 1 character
Host name or IP address of the sequencer. The default, 127.0.0.1, is the computer Substation runs on. Substation stops at startup with an error if no host has this name.
sequencer_port in osc
- Type
integer- Default
9000- Limits
- at least 1, at most 65535
UDP port the sequencer listens on. The default, 9000, is Subsequence's.
sampler_enabled in osc
- Type
boolean- Default
false
Whether the scanner sends /sample/import to a sampler, at sampler_host
and sampler_port, each time it saves a recording, so the sampler can load
the new file.
sampler_host in osc
- Type
string- Default
"127.0.0.1"- Limits
- at least 1 character
Host name or IP address of the sampler. The default, 127.0.0.1, is the computer Substation runs on. The message carries the recording's full path on this computer, so a sampler on another computer can load the file only if it can open that same path. Substation stops at startup with an error if no host has this name.
sampler_port in osc
- Type
integer- Default
9002- Limits
- at least 1, at most 65535
UDP port the sampler listens on. The default, 9002, is Subsample's.
