substation-antenna
A program of its own, installed beside substation, with its arguments and options.
substation-antenna [-h] (--band NAME | --freq FREQ | --list) [--config CONFIG]
Calculate antenna lengths for a Substation band or a frequency: a half-wave dipole, a quarter-wave vertical, a 5/8-wave vertical, and a full-wave loop.
Examples:
substation-antenna --band hf_night_4mhz # Use a configured band's centre frequency
substation-antenna --freq 4625e3 # Use a frequency in Hz
substation-antenna --list # List the configured bands
For a band wider than 2% either side of its centre frequency, the report also shows the dipole's natural SWR window and the antenna lengths at the band edges, so you can decide whether to cut for the centre, an edge, or use a tuner. Lengths of a metre or more are in metres, and shorter ones in centimetres.
Exit status:
0 The report or the list was printed.
2 The command line was not understood, the configuration file or the
band was not found, or the frequency was not positive.
Options
--band(text): A band from the configuration, by name: the lengths are for its centre frequency--freq(float): A frequency in Hz (e.g. 4625e3 or 446.0e6)--list(flag): List the configured bands' names, and exit--config(path): Your configuration file, merged over the shipped defaults (default: config.yaml in the current directory, if there is one)
