Subsample command line
Every command subsample answers to at the pinned commit, as its own help describes it.
subsample [-h] [--config PATH] [--list-devices] [--init] [FILE ...]
A sampler that cuts separate sounds out of a live input or a recording, sorts them by how they sound, and plays them from MIDI.
commands:
import import pre-trimmed audio files into the sample library
catalog CSV catalogue of every sample's detected properties, with curation aids
analyze analyse audio files and print their detected metrics
similar rank library samples against each reference, or one sound, by similarity
loops find and audition click-free loop points in sustained samples
Run subsample <command> --help for a command's own options. A FILE named like a command needs a path prefix: subsample ./import.
Arguments
FILE(path, repeatable): Audio files to cut into samples, written torecorder.directoryand named after the source file (e.g. recording_1.wav, recording_2.wav, …, or .flac files whenrecorder.audio.audio_formatisflac). Subsample exits once they are done, without starting live capture.
Options
--config(path): Path to config.yaml (default: ./config.yaml in the current directory, falling back to built-in defaults). Relative paths inside the config still resolve against the current directory, so one shared config can serve several project folders.--list-devices(flag): List the audio input, audio output, and MIDI input devices on this machine, then exit. Any name shown can be used in config.yaml's device settings, whole or in part, with wildcards for a number that changes.--init(flag): Create a complete starter project in the current directory - a fully commented config.yaml, the ready-to-play GM drum kit map, and an editable map template - then exit. The GM reference fingerprints the kit matches against ship inside Subsample and are named, so nothing is copied. Refuses to overwrite existing files.
